Getaway Entertainment Launch - Deadline

Director Sophia Banks and producer Damiano Tucci have launched Getaway Entertainment, a new production company committed to great storytelling across all mediums. Getaway already has a robust slate of projects, including the Cary Joji Fukunaga helmed Blood On Snow starring Tom Hardy and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Oh Canada from Paul Schrader starring Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, Jacob Elordi and Michael Imperioli, Hand Of Dante from Julian Schnabel with an ensemble cast including Gal Gadot, Oscar Isaac, Gerard Butler, Jason Momoa and Al Pacino and The Luckiest Man In America starring Paul Walter Hauser, Walton Goggins, Maisie Williams, David Strathairn and Johnny Knoxville.

Banks has directed 200+ spots for the likes of Airbnb, BMW, Kylie + Kendall Jenner and Nestle. She was selected by Baz Luhrmann and Vogue as one of their new up-and-coming directors. Banks’ sci-fi debut short film Unregistered starring Dylan Penn and Trevor Jackson, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and went on to screen at many film festivals worldwide.
As well developing projects with Anonymous Content and Appian Way, she made her feature directorial debut with Black Site produced by Thunder Road staring Michelle Monaghan and Jason Clarke. Banks is attached to direct an upcoming sci-fi film with Scott Free Productions, as well as the upcoming thriller, Dain Conspiracy being produced by Bill Mechanic, Rick Nicita and Tucci.
Among his many films, Tucci executive produced Rob Reiner’s LBJ staring Woody Harrelson, Richard Jenkins and Bill Pullman; produced Mark Pellington’s The Last Word staring Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried; produced Lea Thompson’s The Year of Spectacular Men starting Zoey Deutch, Madelyn Deutch, Nicholas Braun and Jesse Bradford; and produced Rob Cohen’s HURRICANE HEIST starring Maggie Grace, Ryan Kwanten and Toby Kebell.
